FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How I publish the Tourney Pool Manager to the Internet?
Download the Pool
Manager Internet Deployment Tutorial (.doc 709kb) to learn how
to publish Pool Manager to the Internet.
Why can't I install the Tourney Pool Manager?
You must install the .NET 1.1 Redistributable before the Pool Manager will
install and run correctly. You can download this through
Windows Update or through the
.NET 1.1 Redistributable download page.
Does Tourney Pool Manager support Microsoft SQL Server databases?
Yes, Tourney Pool Manager has SQL Server 2000 support. See the SQL Server
Database Readme file in the documentation folder of the Tourney Pool Manager
install location for more information.
Why does the Internet version not run correctly?
You must install the .NET 1.1 Redistributable on the Web Server before the Pool
Manager will run correctly. You can download this through
Windows Update or through the
.NET 1.1 Redistributable download page.
How do I install ASP.NET on my IIS web server?
Open the command prompt and change to the following directory
C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322 then type in the following command:
Aspnet_regiis -i. This will install ASP.NET 1.1 on your
IIS web server. To find out more about installing ASP.NET see the "ASP.NET
IIS Registration Tool (Aspnet_regiis.exe)" on Microsoft's website.
Why do I get an error that says "Operation must use an updateable query"?
You must set security rights on the "Data" folder of your
Tourney Pool Manager (Example:
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\tourneypoolmanager\data) of your install directory.
You must give the ASPNET user modify security rights to this folder. If you are
using Windows 2003 and IIS 6.0 you must give the NETWORK SERVICE group modify
security rights.
Why do I get an error that says "The .Net OLE DB Provider(System.Data.OleDb)
requires Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) version 2.6 or later."?
The Tourney Pool Manager uses data access to store and retreive data from it's
database. You must install the most up-to-date data access
components. You can download this for free from Microsoft at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en.
VERSION 2.0 KNOWN ISSUES
"Load Final Four Config" button on the Web Services Admin page causes a
runtime error.
We found this bug so anyone that has version 1.0.0, 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 installed
must select this value manually. The correct value to select is the third
option in the list: East vs. Midwest and South vs. West. There is
new build available that fixes this issue but you must install the new version
including installing a new database.
Email Address validation is too restrictive.
A bug as been identified in the Tourney Pool Manager that forces email
addresses to be used that meet a restrictive policy. This validation
issue doesn't allow a "." between the first and last name in an email
address. It also doesn't allow for .us and other valid domain
suffixes. We have posted a hot fix to this issue. Download and
install the RestrictiveEmailFix.zip
hot fix to resolve this issue.
